From the moment I accepted the suggestion to utilize neon as a medium, I initiated the Neon Project—an undertaking that finds its origins in archiving various phrases derived from my observations, research, reflections, interlocutions and dialogues, shaped amidst my intellectual, artistic, and life journey.
Started in 2021, during my immersion in the studies of Environmental Humanities at Ca'Foscari University of Venice, this project stands as an ongoing pursuit. It metamorphoses as I infuse it with meaning through a continuous intertextual exploration - engaging in dialogues with my previous artworks - and contextual discussions. These conversations transpire within the academic sphere, involving interactions with pertinent literature, scientific concepts, and dialogues with contemporaneous debates, artists, curators, and philosophers.
"Here We Will All Lick Ourselves" and "Here We Can Only Be Happy" - the former, an insight into human frailty and our interconnectedness; the latter, the only plausible conclusion to the inevitability of an end. Both gestures underscore the imperative need for empathy and assistance to achieve healing and happiness.
